Event to raise money for cancer foundation, Rescue Mission | News, Sports, Jobs

The Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance is hosting “The Basket Stroll” on Thursday, March 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Lake Club. 1140 Paulin Road, Poland. All proceeds will benefit the Apple Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation and The Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley.

The event features an extensive Basket raffle, Grand raffle, live entertainment and vendor shopping. Participants will enjoy food stations for lunch with a cash bar available.

Grand raffle prizes include a David Yurman bracelet/ dinner in the wine room at The Lake Club – up to $500 value, two-piece set of Samsonite Luggage, and $500 cash. Live entertainment provided by Tony Horvath. Vendor shopping will include Lilly Pulitzer-Legacy Village, Grey Boutique, Sue Lemon-wearable art, Dazzling Design Boutique and Lakeside jewelry.

The cost is $30 a person by Feb. 18. Checks payable to MCMSA can be mailed to Carol Sankovic at 7003 Southberry Hill, Canfield OH 44406 or pay via credit card on the Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance Facebook page. Tables of eight can be reserved by calling Carol Sankovic at 330-980- 4450. Chairperson of the event is Carol Sankovic. Committee members are Susan Berny, Jen Coleman, Shelley Duffett, Kathy Dwinnells, Tammy Engle, Paula Jakubek, Janelle Nagy, Cristina Memo, Elizabeth Roller, Sangeetha Sethi, Barb Vrable and Susan Yarab.

The Medical Alliance is a volunteer organization comprised of spouses who provide support to the community through health education, legislation, community service and fundraising.
