China’s trade increased 7.7 percent in 2022

The General Customs Administration said the total volume of foreign trade exceeded 42 trillion yuan (6.2 trillion US dollars) last year. In detail, exports rose 10.5 percent while imports grew 4.3.
However, the mentioned indicators had a slow growth last December due to the high costs of shipments and the low demand for merchandise in the festive season.
In general, during 2022, China also maintained stable trade with member countries of the European Union, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Belt and Road initiative, and even the United States, with whom it has been in a trade war since 2018.
For this year, Chinese authorities will seek, above all, to ensure macroeconomic and social stability, but at the same time, to deepen the policy of reform and openness, accelerate growth based on innovation and achieve high-standard development.
Another goal will be to further strengthen domestic markets and alliances with friendly countries and regions, as well as to overcome the effects of the global crisis caused by the pandemic.
