DaBaby wants to win back his junkies, so he’s making music like he’s selling drugs. In his new song “Sellin’ Crack” featuring Offset, he talks of his desire to make a comeback after he made homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Miami 2021.
“Came a long way from sharin’ big, big brother/ Had to sleep on the floor, on the mattress,” DaBaby raps on the track. “And if I can keep it up, I’m goin’ platinum/ Hmm, again, n****, believe that.”
In the video for the song, the rappers recreate the 1991 film New Jack City about Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes) and the Cash Money Brothers’ drug empire.
“Sellin’ Crack” is one of three songs on DaBaby’s CALL DA FIREMAN bundle, which also includes his latest charting hit, “Shake Sumn,” now #74 on the Billboard Hot 100.
For the uninitiated, DaBaby had been canceled by many after he took the Rolling Miami stage in 2021 and requested that those who “didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in two to three weeks” put up their cellphone lighter.
DaBaby later apologized for his “insensitive” comments, noting, “I have no intentions on offending anybody,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
