Launa West is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of John Marshall High School as well as a proud alum of Oklahoma State University with a major in Communications. With 15 years with Perry Publishing and Broadcasting, she is the News Director of the all-new Heart and Soul 92.1 &1140. She is the co-host and producer of the “Open Mic Talk Show.” She is also the producer of the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show as well as the PSA Director. Two words that come to mind when describing Launa West- a people person. Launa West feels that her “mission of caring” best describes her life’s goal as she endeavors to communicate and touch lives wherever she goes. During her spare time, Launa’s community involvement includes participating in walk-a-thons: Susan G Koman’s Race for the Cure, One Church One Child, and the Alzheimer’s Association. She has been actively involved in community forums, mistress of ceremony for support rallies, as well as church seminars. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family, shopping, traveling, meeting new people, planning special events as well as hosting events. As a child of educators, Launa was raised by parents who hold education and public service as top priorities. She is always looking for ways to help someone else; she especially has a passion for inspiring young people.
