In response to the increase that has occurred in Europe in the past month, WHO had previously warned of the potential for an increase in Covid-19 in Europe this summer. WHO also asked countries in the region to continue to monitor the spread, after cases have doubled in the last month.

According to the report of the European health agency, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the trend of increasing cases occurred in 24 out of 30 countries in Europe.
