Xbox considering new options to save energy
The energy bill is considerably higher and that is also bad news for gamers. Using a console or gaming PC consumes quite a lot of power. Xbox seems to be very interested in new options that save energy.

Microsoft regularly tests new features among so-called Xbox Insiders. These Inisders have now also received a survey with many questions about energy consumption (via Windows Central). In addition, Xbox also seems to be gauging what energy-saving features could possibly be added to the Xbox consoles.

For example, Xbox is very curious what the Insiders would think if they had the choice to, for example, optimize frame rate and resolution so that less energy is used. That would be optional, but Xbox is also curious about what people think if games, for example, automatically lower the resolution and framerate when the player appears to be inactive.
Will Xbox save more power?
This is just a survey, so there’s no guarantee Xbox will actually introduce these features. The fact that concrete ideas are mentioned could mean that Xbox is seriously considering these new features. It would probably take a while, as even Xbox Insiders couldn’t try a test version of these features yet.
