What emotion would you like to feel this week? Because there’s a new show or film for all of them. On Netflix, you’ve got the tear-jerking lost-pet drama Dog Gone, which stars Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams-Paisley as the parents of a teenage boy whose dog gets lost on the Appalachian Trail. Over on Hulu, you can check out the cringe comedy The Drop, about a woman who drops her friend’s baby and has to deal with the personal and relationship fallout in the aftermath of it. And on HBO, you can tune in to The Last Of Us, the new series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey which is based on the successful post-apocalyptic video game.

New on Netflix January 13: Dog Gone

New on Netflix this week is Dog Gone, the true story of a father and son (Rob Lowe and Johnny Berchtold) who set out on the Appalachian Trail to find their family’s lost dog, Gonker, after the pup disappears. It’s a race against time though, as the dog needs medication to survive and the pair try to find their beloved pet with the help of many strangers along the way.

New on Hulu January 13: The Drop

Remember the overly dramatic TV mini-series The Slap, about a neighborhood torn apart when a parent slapped a child that wasn’t their own at a party? The Drop, which new on Hulu and produced by the Duplass brothers, is kind of (sort of) like that, except it’s a comedy in which a couple, Lex and Mani (Anna Konkle and Jermaine Fowler), who are attending a tropical wedding with a group of friends are ostracized when Lex drops her friend’s baby in front of everyone and they become the focus of the event.

New on HBO Max January 15: The Last Of Us

HBO’s The Last of Us is based on the video game of the same name, and stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, a smuggler who has to transport teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of a quarantine zone after a mutated fungus decimates the population and creates cannibalistic creatures who threaten them on their journey. Longtime fans can keep an eye out for some of the original actors who voiced roles in the game, including Merle Dandridge who reprises her role as Marlene, Ashley Johnson, who originally voiced Ellie and appears in the show as Anna, and Troy Baker, who originally voiced Joel and plays James, a settler, on the show.
