See Dead By Daylight Crossover With The Best Horror Franchise

Dead by Daylight has added new cosmetics for Resident Evil characters Ada Wong, Jil Valentine, and the mutated William Birkin.
After it introduced one of the best Resident Evil villains into the game, Dead by Daylight continues its collaboration with the Resident Evil franchise. Fortnite’s long-lost and slightly deranged spiritual relative is now adding three additional skins in celebration of the Lunar New Year—two for the gaming title’s survivor players and one for the killer. It’s worth reiterating that we’re discussing cosmetics rather than new characters being introduced to the series.
While Jill, Leon, Ada, and Rebecca remain as the four playable RE characters within Dead by Daylight, players can now use Legendary skins to change their characters’ appearance into Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar from Resident Evil 5 or Blight—a heavily mutated version of William Birkin—Ada’s “Lunar Qipao” outfit, and Jill’s Revelation’s Gear for their respective characters. All cosmetics are currently available via the Dead by Daylight in-game shop and are confirmed as mainstays rather than seasonal addition.
It would seem that the partnership between Behaviour Interactive, the developers of Dead by Daylight, and the owner of the Resident Evil gaming franchise, Capcom continues to develop in the right direction. The former was allowed to feature not one but two RE chapters, both of which have introduced one killer and two survivors, respectively. Now, Dead by Daylight has to repay the favor by granting the aforementioned additions to its roster with a set of new, legendary cosmetics for players to enjoy. It would be nice if these were made available in future Resident Evil releases.
The first collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil brought Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy—the latter is featured in the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake—as survivors, while Nemesis played the chapter’s Big Bad. Likewise, the second chapter added Ada Wong (who’s also featured in RE4) and Rebecca Chambers as survivors and Albert Wesker as the killer. But this is where things become interesting in regard to the newly-added skins.
It’s worth mentioning that all aforementioned skins are cosmetic sets, so players won’t be able to mix and match different parts of different skins. Blight’s skin is perhaps the most interesting and detailed of all. He’s one of the least liked but insanely strong killers within Dead by Daylight, so Behaviour decided to turn him into a mutated William Birkin. The level of detail regarding the skin is incredible, most notably the well-detailed bulging eyeball erupting from his right shoulder. Blight’s new visuals are accompanied by skin-specific sound effects to complement the entire experience.
Dead by Daylight is currently available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and various mobile devices. As for Resident Evil, the remake of the acclaimed fourth installment is scheduled to drop on March 24, 2023, while the VR version of the massively popular Resident Evil Village is expected to arrive next month. The release date for the latter coincides with the release of Sony’s PSVR 2 headset, as it will serve as the platform’s launch title, scheduled for February 22, 2023.
