Nas has extended his streak of teaming up with young producers by partnering with Metro Boomin for “Nas Morales” — a track taken from the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.

Released on Thursday (June 1), it begins with Hip Hop icon spitting a laid back versed with superhero elements to it, not hesitating to show his seasoned versatility with each bar.

I’m just flexin’ my ability, sick and tired of humility/ Can’t believe that they would hate on me/ For being me, I face a penalty/ They expect so much from me, it sucks for me/ Lucky me, I’m just flyin’ through the sky sucker-free/ I’m just up above the city streets, climbin’ walls at a different speed,” Nas raps over Metro Boomin’s boom bap production.

Within the first seconds of the visual, both dynamic musicians are depicted in animated form while wearing different versions of Spiderman’s iconic mask. Throughout the video, Spiderman’s symbol can be see changing colors while moving in and out of the frame.

Nas isn’t the only rapper Metro Boomin has been tapping in with for the new superhero film. Future, Lil Uzi Vert. J.I.D and a slew of others have been invited to contribute to the superhero movie project.

The multi-platinum producer began unveiling his collaborators in a similar fashion to that of his Heroes & Villains rollout last year, which involved him posting illustrated comic book caricatures of his guests.

For the Spider-Verse rollout, each guest was fittingly drawn to include their own Spider-Man costume, and over the course of this past week, Metro revealed the album would feature a plethora of talent.

In addition to Future, Uzi and J.I.D, the soundtrack features appearances from Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, Offset, 2 Chainz, Swae Lee, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Nav, Don Toliver, Coi Leray, Wizkid, James Blake and more.

Meanwhile, Shameik Moore — the voice of Miles Morales — shared his affinity for Biggie in a new interview with HipHopDX, whose song “Hypnotize” was featured prominently in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

“When was I introduced to him? I’m not even completely sure,” he said recently. “But I know I started embracing Biggie when I started boxing. When I box, I just throw on the greatest hits from Biggie and his music is on rotation in my mind. So when those songs come on, I get in a natural flow state when I’m in the ring. It’s good.”

“I think Biggie was probably the illest MC ever, but I could be wrong. There’s still André 3000, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, JAY-Z etc. But I like the storytelling aspect of it as an actor and writer. I just like the pictures that he paints.”
