Midnights, Taylor Swift’s new album: top and flop of the disc

Two years after Folklore and Evermore, Taylor Swift is back with a new album (it’s actually a visual album). The album opens with the splendid Lavender Haze, even improves with the second track, Maroon and reaches its peak with Anti Hero, which is also one of Taylor Swift’s favorite tracks: “Track number three is called Anti-Hero and is one of my favourite songs. I think I have never told my insecurities in detail before and so thoroughly “.

The duet with Lana Del Rey is also enchanting, even if for me it is not the real pearl of the album. I was less impressed with the second half of the album, except for Karma and the delicate Sweet Nothing (which reminded me of Vanessa Carlton songs that I love). Overall Midnights is a successful project, with great stylistic coherence, really interesting lyrics and a sound that at times recalls all three of Taylor’s latest records.
