Jason Sudeikis Reveals Owen Wilson’s Devastating ‘Compliment’

Jason Sudeikis recalls Owen Wilson’s “compliment” about his eating habits on the set of Hall Pass.
The lead star of Ted Lasso recently appeared on an episode of Hot Ones, where he discussed his time working on the 2011 comedy film. According to Sudeikis, his co-star Wilson stated, “Gosh, you’ll just put anything in your body, huh?” after he continued to eat chicken wings while filming a scene. Wilson then added, “I’m so curious what you’d look like if you actually worked out and took care of yourself.” Sudeikis laughed while telling the story, with the host of the interview, Sean Evans, doing the same.
The scene in question featured the characters eating chicken wings at a sports bar. Both Evans and Sudeikis explained that it’s a common practice on film sets to avoid eating when the camera is not focused on you. However, Sudeikis claimed “they didn’t” inform him of this before shooting the scene, which is why he continued to eat while they were filming Wilson’s part. Despite the comments, the actor talked fondly of his time working on the project, noting it as his first time playing an “on the poster kind of thing” lead.
Sudeikis and Wilson Take Off
Sudeikis has since established a strong career in Hollywood comedy, having appeared in many movies as a top-billed performer. This includes roles in titles like Horrible Bosses, We’re The Millers, The Angry Birds Movie and more. Wilson’s career has also continued to thrive, with his recent role on the Disney+ series Loki bringing him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also portrayed a Bob Ross-type painter in the recent Brit McAdams film titled Paint.
Hall Pass was a comedy movie directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly, known for working on projects such as Dumb and Dumber, There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene and more. The movie follows a pair of husbands who are given a “hall pass” by their wives, meaning they have one week to do whatever they want. This leads to an array of antics inspired by their attempts to satisfy their wildest fantasies. The film also stars Christina Applegate, Jenna Fischer, Richard Jenkins, Stephen Merchant, Alexandra Daddario and more.
Ted Lasso, the comedy TV series developed by Sudeikis, began its third season in March 2023. The next episode, which is expected to be the series finale, is scheduled for May 31, 2023.
