GTA 6 leak won’t affect development

Many fans have been waiting for GTA 6 for quite some time. In September, we saw parts of the game after Rockstar was hacked. If you were concerned that this hack would make the wait for the game even longer, you can breathe a sigh of relief.

GTA 6 has been rumored for years, but many of the more recent claims have seemingly been confirmed recently. Only it wasn’t Rockstar who came up with the information, but a hacker who put an hour of footage of the game online. Rockstar confirmed the leak was real and said it was disappointed that it had happened.

At the time, the developer already indicated that the leak would probably not have a serious impact on development. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of publisher Take-Two, can now confirm that too. In the company’s quarterly review, Zelnick indicates that the leak “definitely won’t affect development or anything like that” (via VGC).

Zelnick does indicate that Take-Two will pay more attention to cybersecurity. The company will probably not be alone in this, because the 17-year-old who was arrested for the GTA 6 hack is said to have ties to hacker collective Lapsus$. This collective has already hacked large tech companies this year, including Nvidia.

What did the GTA 6 leak reveal?

The leaked images of the new GTA seemed to confirm several rumors. For example, the leaked images took place in Vice City, Rockstar’s parody of Miami. It was also seen that a female character was played.
