Back in 2016, Naseeruddin had courted a controversy for calling Rajesh Khanna, Indian cinema’s first superstar, a limited and poor actor. He had even raised questions about the late star’s taste.

Dimple Kapadia’s Graceful Reponse

The veteran actor had hit back at her Finding Fanny co-star by saying, “I just want to say that while I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinion, the man’s career and legacy speak for him. I don’t need to over-emphasise his accomplishments or what he has done for Hindi cinema. You know them, I know them, millions of his fans know them as well.”

Later, Shah had apologised for his disparaging comments. “I apologise to those who were personally offended, my intention was not to attack him (Rajesh Khanna),” he was quoted as saying.
