Vaibhavi Merchant on SRK’s iconic adaab in Pathaan’s Besharam Rang: ‘You will get 50 variations from him’

Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant opened up about Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic adaab in the Pathaan song Besharam Rang. Here’s what she said.

By India Today Web Desk: Besharam Rang was the first song from Pathaan to release on YouTube. It was released by the makers in December 2022. The song is picturised on Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.The track has over 230 million views on YouTube. The song is crooned by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravjiani. And while Kumaar penned the lyrics, Vaibhavi Merchant choreographed the peppy dance number. Ahead of the film’s release, Vaibhavi opened up about SRK’s iconic adaab in Besharam Rang.

Yash Raj Films shared a video of Vaibhavi Merchant, in which she spoke about everything related to Besharam Rang from Pathaan. She not only called Shah Rukh charming but also opened up about his iconic adaab in the track.

“When he walks on the set, he is so charming and you see a charismatic Shah Rukh at his best. He can charm even a palm tree, I guess. He can charm anything and everything, any object and any being, for that matter. He can make the most ordinary, extraordinary moment in cinema. That’s the kind of allure, enigma and magic that he possesses. He is a very simple man, but when it comes to giving a shot… that’s the mark of a brilliant actor. They just love doing what they do. When he comes and he does his bit (adaab), he will give you variations. He will look away and he will also look back and again, he will do another variation. You will get some 50 variations from him. And it’s a difficult job for all of us at the edit table. Kya rakhe aur kya na rakhe? That’s Mr Shah Ruk Khan for you. If you ask for one, you will get a zillion,” she said.
