Tom Holland Teases an Epic Battle Between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3

Deadpool 3 began filming last month, and the excitement for the Merc with a Mouth’s MCU debut is growing. In 2022, Hugh Jackman teamed up with Ryan Reynolds to announce that not only would Wade Wilson be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he would be joining Wolverine. And since then, fans have been looking forward to the film. And it seems that not only them.

Tom Holland, who will soon return to the big screen with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures in the fourth installment of his film saga as Peter Parker, is one of the most excited for the third part of the Deadpool trilogy.

In an interview with Forbes, when asked if he’d ever imagined sharing the screen with both Reynolds and Jackman, the actor couldn’t hide his anticipation for the future film:

“Yeah, of course I have. I’m a big fan of both of those guys. I’m sure the film is going to be fantastic. I know they have George Cottle (Jr.) on their side right now as their stunt coordinator and second unit director. You couldn’t ask for a better guy. So I’m very excited for the film. I wish them all the best and I can’t wait to see those two go at it.”

George Cottle Jr. has been the stunt coordinator in all of the Spider-Man movies starring Holland, so the actor knows what he’s talking about when praising his work.

Could Spider-Man Show Up In Deadpool 3?

After officially introducing the concept of the multiverse in productions such as Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU has opened the possibility for anything to happen on its films, so the participation of Spider-Man, in any of his versions, in Deadpool 3 is not a crazy idea.

In fact, although no details about the plot of the film directed by Shawn Levy have been confirmed, everything indicates that the story will have Wade traveling to different realities and even interacting with different and unknown versions of Wolverine, since the Australian actor confirmed that Logan’s timeline will not be altered and his character will remain dead.

Recently, other rumors indicated that part of the cast of the original X-Men trilogy could also participate in the film, even if it is in brief cameos. In fact, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan revealed last year that their jobs as Xavier and Magneto weren’t done.

Considering that Morena Baccarin will return as Vanessa for the movie, and that Wade will have access to Cable’s device to travel back in time, it’s safe to think that Deadpool will be definitely messing with time travel, and the movie will be full of surprises and that will obviously include some special appearances from other Marvel stars, whether it’s from the past, present or even the future.

Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
