If you’ve been anywhere near Netflix this week, the chances are you’ll probably know about Kaleidoscope, the interactive heist drama which streams the episodes in a different random author for each viewer.

The nine-part series follows Giancarlo Esposito as Leo Pap, a criminal mastermind who’s intent on taking down the head of a corporate security company, Roger Salas (Rufus Sewell).

Leo forms a team of fellow masterminds to break into Roger’s safe, including explosive expert Judy (Rosaline Elbay), weapons specialist Ava (Paz Vega), smuggler Stan (Peter Mark Kendall), safe-cracker Bob (Jai Courtney) and driver RJ (Jordan Mendoza).

Unsurprisingly, the show has shot into the streaming service’s Top 10, with viewers looking ahead to a potential second series. Here’s what we know about Kaleidoscope’s potential season two.

Has Netflix’s Kaleidoscope season 2 been confirmed?

So far, Netflix haven’t said anything about a second season of Kaleidoscope, following season one’s release on 1st January. But that doesn’t mean it won’t happen – often the streaming service takes a few weeks to confirm whether a follow up instalment will happen.

What might happen in Kaleidoscope season 2?

It’s hard to know for sure, because season one focusses on a heist that actually happened in real life. Back in 2012 during Hurricane Sandy, $70 billion in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan, and the show follows what happened from various different perspectives.

So while that story might be tied up in the first series, it could end up being like Money Heist, where the story develops in different directions, or even like Black Mirror, which is an anthology series.

Who might star in Kaleidoscope season 2?

It’s hard to know for sure because it hasn’t been confirmed, and fans are theorising that the interactive series might move to tell a different story in a second season.

The original series starred Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Jai Courtney, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay, Niousha Noor, and Jordan Mendoza.

When is Kaleidoscope season 2 expected to be released?

Again, the lack of confirmation that it’s even happening means fans don’t know when it might be on screens. Filming for season one began in September 2021, and wrapped in March 2022, before it dropped on screens in January 2023.

Following that timeline, the season took seven months to film and 10 months to release, meaning if production started on the second season soon, we could expect a January 2024 release. Fingers crossed!

Kaleidoscope season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
