Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan closed its opening weekend run with a historic figure of Rs. 275 crores in Hindi and Rs. 284 crores in all languages. The film has emerged as a blockbuster and is all set to be the fastest film to enter the Rs. 300 crore club too. By the end of 2nd weekend, Pathaan is headed to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time and set a new box office benchmark.
We say this based on data, as the advance booking of Pathaan for Monday is phenomenal. In the three national chains, PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis – Pathaan has sold 1.20 lakh tickets before a single show was rolled out. To put things into perspective, this is bigger than the opening day advance of all releases last year except for Brahmastra, which sold over 3 lakh tickets for the opening day alone.
The spot bookings on Monday will be higher than usual, which ensures that Pathaan is set to clock a 6th Day total in the range of Rs. 20 crores. This would take the total of the film closer to the Rs. 300 crore mark and set the base for strong trending on the weekdays. On an all-India level, the advance booking of Pathaan was around Rs. 5 crores nett, which is again higher than the opening day of all films last year except for Brahmastra.
Pathaan’s 6th day will be higher than the opening day of films like RRR, Drishyam 2, Ram Setu (Holiday Release), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which speaks volumes about the sort of blockbuster it is turning out to be.
