Medal Movie Review: Jayy Randhawa Shines In This Action Entertainer

After the launch of the trailer, the buzz created by the team of Medal has now been seen in the theatres. Yes, finally after facing a lot of obstacles, the movie Medal has seen daylight. The film was earlier slated to hit the screens on June 2, but due to internal issues, it was now released on June 3. We have already seen the film, and it is worth waiting and watching. So, without spoiling much, let’s know a little about the Punjabi Film Medal.

The film story has already been displayed in the trailer where we see how Jayy Randhawa is passionate to win the medal but faces a brutal end at the end. But after watching the entire movie, it feels like there is much more to witness apart from the trailer. The action-thriller story which has the innocence of love in it has a superhit story. At times we forget that we are watching a Punjabi film, not a South. The story and screenplay have hooked the audience to their seats. 

Speaking of the story, Rajveer/Raja (Jayy Randhawa), who had an ambition of winning a national gold medal, is the centre of the film’s plot. However, he encountered Angad (Jag Singh), an envious and haughty rival, along the way. Angad does everything to put Raja down but his talent and dedication help him to win all the races. But in the final match, Raja is disqualified from the competition as Angad cheats on him. As a result, Raja encounters numerous difficulties and decides to enter the criminal underworld in order to exact revenge on Angad. How does he exact his vengeance? Or will he actually be able to exact his retribution? This is the main subject of the film. 

But what disappoints us the most is the screen appearance of Baani Sandhu. It was not looking like her debut but more of her guest appearance. Baani could show more of her skill and talent in the film. Hope a better luck for her next time. 

And coming to the people who are behind the screenplay and storyline is Medal’: director and writer. The film has been helmed by Maneesh Bhatt who has already shown his magic with various other movies whereas written by Jassi Lokha has another heart-winning element of Medal. Both people have engaged the audience with action-packed films.

Speaking of the star cast and their acting, the Punjabi film ‘Medal’ features Jayy Randhawa and Baani Sandhu in pivotal roles. Jayy Randhawa, whose swag is on par despite having been a gangster, deserves a standing ovation. His story of becoming a goon will sob your eyes. 

And as earlier said Baani could use more in the film. Further, the talented supporting cast of the movie includes Hobby Dhaliwal, Pardeep Rawat, Jag Singh, Davvy Singh, Gurman Sandhu, Lucky Dhaliwal, Galav Waraich and many more.

The entire cast of the movie merits a round of applause. Nobody puts on a subpar performance. Everyone has given every available inch of screen space their all. The fans praised the artists’ expressions and dialogue delivery highly. In short, we can say that everyone did a great job with the Medal.

Coming to the music department, the songs were smartly released for promotion purposes. As in the film, we were keen to hear the songs but would not be able to listen to any of them. What most impressed us in the film was the background music. The high-level background music which gives us chill vibes has seriously enthralled the audience. It is an important element that glued us to our seats. After every minute we feel like something suspenseful pops up. 

The bone-cracking background score has given us south film vibes which have made us proud that the Punjabi film industry is widening its range. 

Overall the film Medal has delivered a unique concept to the audience. We were particularly delighted by the set that was prepared for the shoot.  And the element which somehow unimpressed is the less screen space of Baani Sandhu. We could see more of her. But all in all, it’s legitimate to say that the movie is a smash, as evidenced by the cinephile’s reactions.
