PSG receive £259m world-record Kylian Mbappe bid as Premier League clubs circle

Kylian Mbappe’s future is set to be away from Paris Saint-Germain after the French champions received a world-record transfer bid for their star man

PSG have now received a staggering world-record bid for Kylian Mbappe that changes the face of football finances.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Arabian big-spenders Al Hilal have submitted an incredible €300million offer for Mbappe, which equates to around £259m. That would smash the previous record transfer fee, which belongs to Neymar after his £198m switch from Barcelona to PSG in 2017.

Romano adds there have been no talks yet between Mbappe and Al Hilal, who boast former Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves among their ranks. This latest news will set alarm bells ringing in the Premier League, with several clubs said to be keeping abreast of Mbappe’s situation at PSG.

The 24-year-old looks set to leave the French champions this summer after PSG put him up for sale. It comes after the club left him out of their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, insisting they only want players who are committed to the team.

PSG are determined not to lose Mbappe on a free next summer, with the World Cup winner having cost them around £163m from Monaco in 2018. PSG believe the superstar forward has already agreed a deal with Real Madrid for next summer.

It is claimed that Mbappe will not play for PSG again if he does not extend his contract.

Further reports from CBS claim Mbappe will earn a staggering €700m (£604m) for just one year with Al Hilal. That works out to around €13m (£11.2m) a week in wages, and would allow him to move to the Bernabeu next summer should he so wish. Reports in France claim PSG have given permission to Al Hilal to hold talks with Mbappe.

However, in terms of the current transfer window still, the Saudi Arabian side do face competition for his signature now from Real Madrid and teams in the Premier League.

At least five clubs are believed to have contacted PSG over the forward’s availability as his contract situation comes to a head this summer. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have enquired this weekend.

Meanwhile, Mbappe is incredibly not the only forward Al Hilal are trying to sign right now – as talks are advancing for Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Mbappe has scored 212 goals in 260 games since joining the French giants five years ago, winning five Ligue 1 titles and claiming a Champions League runners-up medal, among other accolades.
