‘And Just Like That…’ star Evan Handler speaks out about Kim Cattrall’s upcoming cameo

It’s all happening.

This week, The Post exclusively confirmed that Kim Cattrall, 66, will be returning to this season of the “Sex and the City” reboot, “And Just Like That…” to reprise her role as the iconic publicist Samantha Jones in a cameo appearance.

And, it appears that some of the cast members are looking forward to the addition.

“I think it is great. I do,” Evan Handler, who plays the husband of character Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) told People on Saturday.

He continued, “Apparently, [her cameo] was shot in the garage somewhere with no contact with anybody, so the only place I have to welcome her is into my living room when it airs on television.”

The spinoff premiered on HBO Max, now known as Max, in December 2021, and the second season is slated for June 22.

Sources told The Post that Cattrall’s cameo didn’t leave a paper trail, as they didn’t want others who worked on the show to learn about it – her name not even appearing on a call sheet.

“The fact that they’re keeping it very hush-hush says that there’s some implication that she might be coming back — not this season, but it’s definitely a cliffhanger that’s gonna get people to come back for Season 3,” an insider told The Post about Cattrall’s cameo.

Cattrall seemed to hint at the appearance on social media after the news broke, reposting a photo of Variety’s article about her return.

Her cameo comes after her alleged feud with her fellow costars a few years ago.

In 2017, the ladies were supposed to film a third “Sex and the City” movie, but it quickly came to a screeching halt after there was supposed drama between the cast and Cattrall.

At the time, an article had come out, published by The Daily Mail, which alleged Cattrall’s “demands” for the movie.

When it came to the reboot, they wrote off Cattrall’s character by claiming that she moved to London and had a falling out with Bradshaw.

However, Cattrall claimed last year that she “was never asked to be part of the reboot” in the first place.

“I was never asked to be part of the reboot,” Cattrall said in an exclusive interview with Variety at the time.

“I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”

In the past, there have also been rumors of a feud between Cattrall Sarah Jessica Parker, including a fiery social media post following the death of the star’s brother – but Parker denied the alleged fight during a 2018 interview with The Post.

“I don’t have a disagreement with Kim [Cattrall], there’s no catfight,” Parker claimed at the time.

“I’ve never said anything publicly, nor would I. I’ve only ever expressed admiration and gratitude for everything she contributed — and I still feel that way.”

“Sex and the City” ran from 1998-2004, spanning for six seasons.
