Trailer: John Cena, Jackie Chan In “Hidden Strike”

XYZ Films has released the trailer for the action comedy “Hidden Strike” which sees the teaming of Hong Kong action movie legend Jackie Chan and pro-wrestler turned well-regarded action/comedy actor John Cena.

Set in the near future during an oil war, two ex-special forces soldiers are paired together for a special mission escorting a group of civilians along Baghdad’s “Highway of Death” to the safety of the Green Zone.

Pilou Asbæk stars as the film’s villain who sets out to do pull off some sort of oil heist. Amadeus Serafini also stars in the film which is helmed by “Need For Speed” and “The Expendables 4” filmmaker Scott Waugh.

If this sounds familiar, you’ve good recall. The project has undergone several names, including “Snafu” and “Project X-Traction,” and was actually shot in China back in 2018.

As it has been ‘on a shelf’ for years, there’s definitely some curiosity about the project. The film currently has no release date as yet, but is expected to debut sometime this year.

Chan and Cena will also be together again this year, lending their voices to the animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” film as the voices of Splinter and Rocksteady, respectively.
