Travis Scott will reportedly turn himself in for questioning following allegations he punched a sound engineer in a New York City nightclub. According to New York Post, police sources say the rapper will fly to New York and speak to New York Police Department detectives as soon as Tuesday. He may be charged with assault, according to a police source.
The paper reports Scott is hoping to resolve things with the police, as his lawyer says this is a misunderstanding.
“While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight,” Scott’s lawyer Mitchell Schuster said in a statement. “We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”
As previously reported, Travis has been accused of punching a man named Mark at Don Toliver‘s Club Nebula after-party. Per The Post, sources say he climbed into the DJ booth during Don’s performance and got upset when the engineer started lowering the music. He allegedly caused $12,000 worth of damages, breaking an audio speaker and a video screen.
Mark tells The Post he went to a medical center in Jersey and was later discharged. He said he’s “just really sore” and has been cleared to work again, noting he “can’t lift anything over five pounds.”
Mark failed to disclose whether or not he plans to sue or press charges against Travis.
