‘Shrinking’ Trailer: Jason Segel, Harrison Ford in Apple Therapy Show

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association’s winter 2023 press tour, Apple TV+ revealed a trailer for comedy series “Shrinking” starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, which premieres on Jan. 27.

The series follows Jimmy (Segel), a grieving therapist who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own. Ford plays Jimmy’s boss, who runs the therapy practice. Also starring are Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie and Lukita Maxwell.

Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein co-created “Shrinking,” which is produced by Warner Bros. Television, where Lawrence is under an overall deal, and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions. Executive producers include Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, Neil Goldman, director James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.

Apple also revealed a first look at Season 2 of “Swagger.”

Inspired by NBA player Kevin Durant’s experiences, “Swagger” explores the world of elite youth basketball clubs, the players, their families and coaches, and “the game within the game.” The cast includes O’Shea Jackson Jr., Isaiah Hill, Shinelle Azoroh, Quvenzhané Wallis, Caleel Harris, Tristan Mack Wilds, Tessa Ferrer, James Bingham, Solomon Irama, Ozie Nzeribe, Jason Rivera, Christina Jackson, Sean Baker, Orlando Jones and Shannon Brown.

Reggie Rock Bythewood serves as creator, showrunner and director. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by Imagine Television Studios, Boardroom, CBS Studios and Undisputed Cinema. Executive producers include by Bythewood, Brian Grazer, Durant, Rich Kleiman, Francie Calfo and Joy Kecken while James Seidman serves as co-executive producer for Imagine Television Studios.

Eugene Levy’s upcoming travel series “The Reluctant Traveler” got a new trailer at TCA.

Hosted and executive produced by Levy, the series sees the actor experience local adventures with new friends, including immersing in a sound bath in the Maldives, ice floating in Finland, connecting with the Navajo Nation in Utah, captaining a sailboat in Lisbon, exploring the culinary culture of Tokyo, and journeying into the Costa Rican jungle. Along the way, Levy also stays in hotels including the historic Gritti Palace in Venice and a train hotel suspended above Kruger National Park in South Africa.

“The Reluctant Traveler” is produced for Apple TV+ by Twofour and is executive produced by Levy and David Brindley.

“Hello Tomorrow!” was another series to get a trailer at TCA.

Set in a retro-future world, “Hello Tomorrow!” follows a group of traveling salesmen hawking lunar timeshares. Jack (Billy Crudup) is a salesman of great talent and ambition,whose unshakeable faith in a brighter tomorrow inspires his coworkers, revitalizes his desperate customers, but threatens to leave him dangerously lost in the very dream that sustains him. Haneefah Wood, Alison Pill, Nicholas Podany, Dewshane Williams, Hank Azaria, Matthew Maher and Jacki Weaver also star.

Amit Bhalla and Lucas Jansen co-created the series, which is produced by MRC Television. Crudup, Stephen Falk, Jonathan Entwistle, Bhalla and Jansen serve as executive producers alongside Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein for Mortal Media.

A teaser was revealed for “The Big Door Prize.”

Based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name, the series tells the story of a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential. Chris O’Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Sammy Fourlas and Djouliet Amara star

“Dear Edward” got a new trailer.

Created by Jason Katims and based on Ann Napolitano’s novel of the same name, “Dear Edward” follows 12-year-old Edward Adler (Colin O’Brien), who survives a devastating commercial plane crash that kills every other passenger on the flight, including his family. As Edward and others try to make sense of life after the crash, unexpected friendships, romances and communities are formed. Also starring are Connie Britton, Taylor Schilling, Amy Forsyth, Eva Ariel Binder, Brittany S. Hall, Idris Debrand, Carter Hudson, Maxwell Jenkins, Jenna Qureshi, Audrey Corsa, Anna Uzele, Ivan Shaw and Dario Ladani Sanchez.

Katims serves as showrunner. Excutive producers include Katims and Jeni Mulein via True Jack Productions, Napolitano and pilot director Fisher Stevens.
