Demand for PS5 not smaller after price increase
The PS5 went up in price this summer. That will have been a setback for many people, but Sony hardly notices it. According to the company, the demand for the console is the same.
In all markets except the United States, you have been paying more for the PS5 since August than before. In the Netherlands, for example, the price has increased by 50 euros, from 500 to 550 for the disc edition. Consumers might have preferred a price reduction after the console was on the market for 2 years, but the price increase is not causing any problems.\

This is evident from Sony’s quarterly meeting. The company has not seen a decrease in consumer demand since the price increase. Sony also indicates that many consoles have been made and that these will be used for the often high demand for the console in the autumn.

It was already expected that the new price would have little effect. Analyst Piers Harding-Rolls previously indicated that demand for the console was high enough that the price increase would at most be a disappointment to consumers. Sony also has plenty of time to meet its sales targets for the current fiscal year, despite sales being a bit disappointing in the past period.
Where can you currently buy the PS5?
How expensive a PS5 is really doesn’t matter much if you can’t find it anywhere, as is often the case. Fortunately, stock has recently been seen again at MediaMarkt, in the form of bundles (which are so expensive that the exact price of the PS5 itself hardly matters). We can probably expect more stock as the holidays get closer.
