‘There will be no Call of Duty Advanced Warfare 2’
While Call of Duty fans are likely to have their hands full with Modern Warfare 2 right now, there are already rumors of future games in the series. For example, we recently heard that Sledgehammer Games would be working on a sequel to Advanced Warfare. But it seems that isn’t actually the case.
Last month it was claimed that Sledgehammer will release a new Advanced Warfare in 2025. But Insider Gaming sources claim that’s not the case. The project is still very early in development and can still change a lot, so it is not known what kind of game it will be if it is not Advanced Warfare 2.

It’s not the first time that Advanced Warfare 2’s existence has been questioned. CharlieIntel when the first rumor spread that they couldn’t verify it. So it now seems that CharlieIntel was rightly feeling wet at that moment.
Incidentally, Insider Gaming has heard that Sledgehammer Games’ next Call of Duty is set in the future. That could not be checked either, but if that is true that could also be the reason that earlier reports spoke of Advanced Warfare 2. Advanced Warfare has a somewhat more futuristic setting than other Call of Duty games.

Will there ever be an Advanced Warfare 2?
It is not excluded that there will indeed be an Advanced Warfare 2 one day. After all, this year’s Call of Duty is also part of a reboot. It may not currently be the plan to make Advanced Warfare 2, but any Call of Duty early enough in development could turn into an Advanced Warfare sequel or reboot.
