Jamie Foxx is overwhelmed with joy over his daughter Corinne, who won an Emmy for her role in Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Good Times.
Corinne played Thelma Evans in the show, which was awarded for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) during the 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Tuesday.
After news broke, Jamie took to Instagram to celebrate the exciting news, as the two toast to her success.
“I would like to introduce to you my daughter Emmy award-winning. Congratulations on your Emmy award performance!!! You are my heart and I am so proud of you,” the actor captioned on Instagram. “You are my heart and I am so proud of you…Keep elevating… I love you!”
Jamie continued in the video, saying, “Oh, celebration, celebration! Somebody just won an Emmy! My beautiful daughter Corinne Marie Foxx, all grown up and she’s an Emmy winner. Daddy-daughter time, that’s what love is all about.”
Foxx was so excited he burst into his own song, singing, “You won an Emmy, you won an Emmy,” as his daughter laughed. Corinne shared a few set photos about the big win on her Instagram while thanking the show’s “amazing” production team, including ABC, Kerry Washington, Jimmy Kimmel, Norman Lear, and more.
In another post, Corinne danced to Maroon 5′s “Nobody’s Love,” while pouring a glass of wine. “What Emmy win celebrations look like in 2020. #StillCelebratingTho,” she wrote in the caption.
Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Good Times aired in 2019, also starring Viola Davis, Tiffany Haddish, Andre Braugher, and others, performing live re-enactments of scenes from the famed TV show.
