Cash Money Records covers the June rent of hundreds of New Orleans tenants – Music News

The legendary label started by Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams has agreed to cover the June rent for all New Orleans residents in the city’s subsidized housing program.

“Rent paid,” Birdman wrote on Instagram, sharing a video of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, who thanked the two brothers for never forgetting their New Orleans roots.

“All right, New Orleans, I need you to join me in giving a big shoutout and a lot of love, like only we can do, to our great sons,  Ronald Slim and Bryan Birdman Williams,” Cantrell said. “You know ’em, Cash Money Records.”

Cantrell revealed the grants will support residents in Gustse, Marrero Commons, Harmony Oaks, Melpomene, Calliope, and Magnolia housing projects. 

“They have stepped up with making sure rent is being covered for our residents,” the mayor continued. “We know these developments are near and dear to our Cash Money family and I just want to say thank you so much.”

Cash Money Records and its imprint, Young Money, are responsible for launching careers of some of the biggest artists in the industry, including Lil WayneDrakeNicki Minaj and more.
