Imagine being a 2020 high school or college graduate and receiving an inspiring message during your virtual graduation ceremony from former President Barack Obama, former first lady Michelle Obama, and Beyoncé.
Queen Bey herself will join the Obamas as guest speakers for YouTube’s virtual graduation ceremony, Dear Class of 2020, as millions of grads skip in-person ceremonies this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Dear Class of 2020, you’ve worked so hard for this moment, and even more people want to celebrate you,” YouTube tweeted, announcing the livestream event on Tuesday.
The event will feature global leaders, celebrities, creators, and more, including Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Kerry Washington, and Billy Porter.
The graduating class will also enjoy musical performances from Chloe X Halle, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, and Doja Cat.
Other guests during the ceremony will include Janelle Monáe, Yara Shahidi, La La Anthony, ballerina Misty Copeland, Kevin Durant, Michael Strahan, and Ciara and Russell Wilson, among others.
Graduates and supporters can watch the virtual celebration on the Dear Class of 2020 YouTube page, June 6th, at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT.
