The PlayStation 5 is a huge console. But we may get a smaller version soon, as the PS5 Slim is reportedly coming in 2023.
When the PlayStation 5 was first unveiled, there was a lot of talk about the design. A lot of people weren’t exactly a fan of that. At the time, it was not yet clear how big the console would be, until it was placed next to a PlayStation 4.
That size is a problem for many owners who want to put the next-gen console in their TV cabinet. Or there’s a huge device right next to your TV. Fortunately, there may be a solution in sight. According to The Leak, the PS5 Slim will arrive in 2023.

The publication has heard from their sources that the production of the PS5 Slim will start in Q2. The real release should then follow sometime in Q3 of next year.
How can a PS5 Slim be made?
The size of the current PlayStation 5 is mainly due to the hardware of the console. Although much more power can be used for games, a lot more heat is also produced. As a result, more space is needed for cooling and airflow. A small die size may be used for the chipset, generating less heat.

The PS5 Slim would also come with a different design, so that the console can also be placed on its side without a stand. Currently, that is not possible if you do not want to have a faltering PlayStation 5.
