Major changes coming to NTV this Summer

Written by on June 4, 2023

In the coming weeks, you may notice disruptions to our broadcast, if you watch us with an over the air TV Antenna – that’s because we’re working to bring you better service than ever before.

Since 1953 KHGI has had the same broadcast antenna at the top of our Tri-City tower, giving us the ability to bring you important and lifesaving information.

Technology is changing and it’s time for us to make some adjustments of our own.

With that, our reach will be even stronger and span further as we change to a new broadcast antenna on our tower.

This move switches us over from VHF to UHF.

We will still be 13.1, 13.2, & 13.3, but will be broadcasting on a much stronger UHF Channel.

To be clear, this should only have an impact to those using a TV antenna – cable, satellite, and streaming users should not be affected.

During the process, we will be on a temporary smaller antenna, while our main antenna is changed -in that phase, you may lose our signal.

If you lose our station, please know, it is only temporary and we will be working hard to get you back up, as soon as possible. The work is weather dependent as the crew is working nearly 1200’ above the ground to complete the work quickly, but safely.

If You don’t have cable or satellite, You can still watch us via the NTV News APP, NTV Weather APP, the STIRR APP, HULU and/or You Tube TV streaming.

Now, here’s where you come in:

If you use a TV Antenna to watch NTV, Once we have our new upgraded Antenna in place, you will need you to rescan your television to find our channel again, you can find instructions on how to do that by clicking here.

Keep checking our social media and website for updates on our progress during the upgrade.
